The FDA has approved Addyi, the first pill to address low libido in postmenopausal women, marking a milestone in female sexual health. Developed by Sprout Pharmaceuticals, Addyi is designed to treat hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in women over 65.

Despite its potential benefits in boosting sexual desire, Addyi comes with risks such as low blood pressure and fainting, especially when consumed with alcohol or certain medications. The pill acts on brain chemicals to enhance desire by affecting neurotransmitters.
