Federal Government Welcomes Suspension of Oyo Teachers' Strike

The Federal Government of Nigeria has applauded the suspension of the teachers' strike in Oyo State, describing it as a significant victory for dialogue and collaboration in education. The announcement was made by the Federal Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, following sustained engagement between the Federal Ministry of Education, the Oyo State government, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).

This resolution is intended to facilitate the return of teachers to classrooms and restore uninterrupted learning across the state. Dr. Alausa commended the exemplary leadership of Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for his commitment to resolving the impasse through dialogue.

He also expressed appreciation for the leadership of the NUT at both national and state levels, including Comrade Audu Titu and Comrade Hassan Ajibola Fatai. The Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian child enjoys uninterrupted access to quality education, despite security challenges in parts of the country.
