Federal Government Welcomes Oyo Teachers' Strike Suspension

The Federal Government has reacted positively to the suspension of the teachers' strike in Oyo State, calling it a significant development in restoring uninterrupted learning across the state. The resolution follows sustained engagement between the Federal Ministry of Education, the Oyo State Government, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) at both national and zonal levels.

Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, announced this development, stating that the success of the resolution reflects the commitment of all parties to prioritize the education of Nigerian children.

He commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for resolving the dispute through dialogue, which he described as an effective leadership approach. Audu Titu, the national president of the NUT, and Hassan Ajibola Fatai, the zonal president, also expressed their commitment to placing the interests of pupils above all considerations.

Alausa reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to ensuring that insecurity does not deny Nigerian children their constitutional right to education, emphasizing that schools will remain safe for teaching and learning.
