FG and AfDB Launch Nigeria Urban Sanitation Report

The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), launched the Nigeria Urban Sanitation Sector Diagnostic Report in Abuja. The event featured Prof. Joseph Utsev, representing the Director of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, and Ali Ibrahim Dallah, Director of Dam Reservoir Operations at the Ministry.

This report serves as a strategic roadmap to transform Nigeria's urban sanitation sector during a critical period when the government is intensifying efforts to improve sanitation services. The initiative aims to mobilize public and private investments to bridge the nation's sanitation infrastructure gap.

Prof. Utsev commended the AfDB for its sustained partnership in supporting the Nigerian water and sanitation sector. He emphasized that achieving universal access to safely managed sanitation services requires innovative financing and stronger institutional frameworks, along with active participation from the private sector.
