Ikorodu-Sagamu Road to Partially Close for Repairs

The Federal Ministry of Works has announced a partial closure of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, effective Monday, to facilitate ongoing reconstruction work. Mr.

Olayiwola Komolaf disclosed this information in a statement released on Saturday, explaining that the decision was made to allow Messrs Arab Contractors to expedite the completion of the project. The affected areas include sections from the Ikorodu roundabout to Sabo junction and the Lagos stretch towards Coca Cola inward Sagamu.

Motorists traveling from Ikorodu to Sagamu will be required to navigate through a counterflow traffic arrangement during the construction period. The project is expected to last for three months, allowing sufficient time for the rigid pavement to cure properly.

The ministry has urged drivers and road users to cooperate with traffic officials and security personnel managing movement in the affected areas to reduce congestion during the construction period. Mr.

Komolaf acknowledged that the reconstruction exercise may cause discomfort to commuters and residents but emphasized efforts to complete the work as quickly as possible.
