FG Allocates N2bn for Epe University and Polytechnic Launch

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a take-off grant of N2 billion each for the establishment of Epe University and Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic. This initiative is part of efforts to support the early operations and development of these institutions.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during the inauguration ceremony held in Abuja.

Prof. Nosiru Onibon was appointed as the pioneer rector of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic, while Dr.

Angela Ajala serves as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE). The establishment of these institutions aims to expand Nigeria's tertiary education system and improve access to quality education in science and technology.

The minister emphasized the importance of leadership in shaping the institutions and highlighted the need for them to address national and global challenges, including food security and climate change. The institutions are strategically located in Epe, Lagos State, to harness the region's human capital potential.
