Edo Governor Approves ₦2bn for University Development

On Monday, Edo State Governor Senator Mondai Okpebholo announced the approval of a ₦2 billion grant for infrastructural development at Edo University, Iyamho. This initiative includes an increase in the institution's monthly subvention from ₦100 million to ₦250 million to enhance operational capacity and improve learning conditions.

Governor Okpebholo emphasized the state government's unwavering support for initiatives that promote educational development. He disclosed this during a commissioning event for the business administration and library fit center, as well as a new university health center, describing these projects as major steps toward revitalizing the educational sector in the state.

He acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders, including parents and sponsors, and called on corporate organizations and individuals to partner with the government in driving development, stressing that government efforts alone cannot meet societal needs.
