FG Launches Mass Trial of 20 Suspected Terrorists

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced a mass trial of 20 suspected terrorists at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The trial is set to begin on Tuesday, April 7, 2024, and will conclude on April 13, 2024, during the current Easter vacation period.

Regular court sessions will resume on Tuesday, April 14, 2024. The trial will be overseen by judges including Justice Binta Nyako, Justice Emeka Nwite, and Justice Musa Liman Akpan.

The prosecution team is led by Rotimi Oyedepo SAN, representing the Federal Government, while Aliyu Abubakar, the Director General of the Legal Aid Council, leads the defense team. The list of suspects includes individuals such as Hamat Modu, Isah Ali, Awal Bello, Shehu Bukar, Alhaji Kull, and others.

Significant security measures have been implemented around the Federal High Court in Abuja, with armed personnel and police helicopters present in the area.
