FG Awards N21.68bn Contract for NAMA HQ Construction

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated the construction of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) headquarters, awarding a contract valued at N21.68 billion to NHD Interbiz Project Ltd. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in Abuja, with Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo announcing that the project will cover the first phase of the new headquarters and is expected to be completed within 30 months.

The contract amount includes tax, and strict performance expectations have been set for the contractor. Keyamo emphasized that this project is part of a broader effort to modernize Nigeria's aviation infrastructure, reduce operational fragmentation, and enhance efficiency across the sector.

The new headquarters will house executive management offices and a state-of-the-art air traffic management center, aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety oversight. Keyamo noted that the current state of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) requires a complete rebuild due to issues such as a broken lift and faulty carousel.
