FG Commences Relocation of 30,000 Cattle from Abuja to Bwari Grazing Reserve

The Federal Government has initiated the relocation of 30,000 cattle from Abuja city center to the Bwari grazing reserve. The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, oversaw the commissioning of a borehole in the reserve as part of the pilot project to transform Kawu into a sustainable livestock development model.

The reserve aims to accommodate herders and their families, with plans for critical infrastructure like roads, schools, health facilities, irrigation systems, markets, and security posts. The government has committed to providing necessary amenities within the hectares of land to support both cattle and humans.

Agreements have been signed with the Rural Electrification Agency for solar power and other agencies for infrastructure development.
