FG Launches Nationwide Educational Material Distribution

On Thursday, Aisha Garba, the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), announced the Federal Government's initiative to enhance access to quality basic education across Nigeria. The program includes the distribution of instructional materials to public basic schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in collaboration with the FCT Universal Basic Education Board.

This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu's "Renew Hope Agenda," which aims to prioritize education for every Nigerian child. The government has constructed 10,000 classrooms and trained 500 teachers, with plans to distribute 400,000 teaching and learning materials, including 7 million core textbooks.

The FCT has received substantial educational resources, including 137 core textbooks, 7,000 packs of pencils, and 40 interactive smart boards. The initiative aims to address the longstanding challenges in Nigeria's basic education system, including inadequate infrastructure and high poverty levels affecting school attendance.
