FG Enhances Security on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road

The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken significant steps to bolster security along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road by handing over three operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force. The initiative, aimed at enhancing surveillance and ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure, was formalized by David Umahi, the Minister of Works, and Olufemi Dare, the Federal Control Work Engineer.

Joel Popoola represented the Federal Ministry of Works during the handover. Inspector General of Police Jimoh Olohundar is tasked with overseeing the security operations in Zone 2, Lagos.

The vehicles are expected to assist in intensifying patrols and surveillance along the route to deter vandalism, criminal activities, and illegal encroachments. The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road is a major infrastructure project designed to improve trade and transport connectivity among coastal states, contributing to long-term economic development in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Police Force is committed to collaborating with the government to safeguard public infrastructure across the country.
