FG Invests in Grid Stabilization for Reliable Electricity

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to providing reliable electricity supply, announcing plans for new investments aimed at stabilizing the national grid. Honourable Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe stated that the Ministry is moving towards a structural overhaul of the transmission network, emphasizing that grid stability is essential for any advancements in power generation and distribution.

A Technical Working Committee on Grid Stabilization has been formed to tackle transmission bottlenecks and aging infrastructure, collaborating with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO). The investment will focus on reinforcing critical transmission corridors, enhancing grid redundancy, and modernizing control systems to mitigate outages.

Tegbe acknowledged the public's skepticism due to past failures and emphasized the administration's accountability to deliver on clear milestones. Updates on the grid stabilization program will be communicated consistently to stakeholders as progress is made.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to restore public confidence in the power sector.
