FG Orders Arrests Over Sexual Assault at Delta Festival

The Federal Government of Nigeria condemned a sexual assault incident that allegedly occurred during the Alu Festival in Ozoro, Delta State. Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, issued a statement directing the arrest and prosecution of those involved.

She called for a transparent and thorough investigation to ensure that those implicated are identified and brought to justice without delay. The Minister described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable, emphasizing that it contradicts human dignity and public safety.

She reaffirmed the government's commitment to prioritizing the safety and dignity of women and girls, and urged public cooperation with law enforcement to prevent future incidents.
