FG Debunks Attack Rumors on Girls’ College in Monguno

The Federal Ministry of Education has strongly refuted misleading reports circulating on social media regarding an alleged attack on the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) in Monguno, Borno State. The ministry described these reports as entirely false and irresponsible, capable of causing unnecessary panic and anxiety among parents, guardians, and the general public.

It stated unequivocally that there was no attack on the college, which remains safe and secure for students and staff. Dr.

Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, reaffirmed that the safety and welfare of every learner in federal government colleges is a top priority. The ministry noted that FGGC Monguno operates under robust security arrangements to ensure the protection of students and staff.

Furthermore, it clarified that no students from the college were involved in any incidents linked to the false reports. The ministry urged the public and media, particularly social media users, to verify information from credible official sources before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation.
