Nigerian Govt Declares Correctional Centers 'Red Zones' Ahead of Nnamdi Kanu Protest

The Federal Government of Nigeria has designated correctional centers as 'Red Zones' in anticipation of protests seeking the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCo) spokesperson, Abubakar Umar, emphasized the need for restraint and cooperation with security agencies during the planned protests.

The NCo assured citizens of their safety within the restricted areas and warned of serious consequences for any violations.
