Oyo Government Claims Deliberate Exclusion of Makinde

On Monday, the Oyo State government alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde was deliberately excluded from the flag-off ceremony for the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode road, which took place in the Oluyole local government area of Oyo State. The statement was issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, who criticized the exclusion as politically motivated.

The ceremony was attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, APC gubernatorial candidate Sarafadeen Alli, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja. Oyelade stated that the rationale behind not inviting Governor Makinde, citing his leave, was absurd given that there was an acting governor present.

He expressed that the event was diminished by political undertones and that Governor Makinde remained unperturbed, regretting that the occasion had devolved into a political jamboree.
