APM Criticizes Tinubu for Excluding Makinde from Road Flag-off

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) condemned the Federal Government for not inviting Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to the flag-off ceremony for the reconstruction and dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, which took place on August 24. APM's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, stated that the exclusion was politically motivated, fearing that Makinde's presence would highlight the shortcomings of President Bola Tinubu's administration in road infrastructure.

Yusuf claimed that while the Tinubu administration has not completed up to 250 kilometres of roads since taking office, Makinde has executed over 360 kilometres in Oyo State. The APM suggested that the absence of both Makinde and Tinubu at the event was indicative of concerns regarding Makinde's growing popularity and political influence.

The ceremony was represented by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, with other notable attendees including Minister of Works David Umahi and traditional rulers.
