Nigeria Government Distributes Food Aid to Borno Residents, Targets 10 Northern States

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a food distribution program in Borno State, aiming to support residents in 10 humanitarian-affected states in northern Nigeria. The initiative, part of the Presidential Emergency Food and Nutrition Intervention Program, includes providing food and non-food items to thousands of residents, especially women, children, and the elderly.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, flagged off the distribution in Maiduguri. The program, led by Minister Bernard Doro, includes essential items like rice, beans, millet, garri, groundnut oil, palm oil, sugar, and medicines.

The distribution covers states like Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, and others. Governor Umar Kadafur commended the intervention, assuring transparent and equitable distribution to benefit those affected by conflicts and economic hardships.
