Nigeria Moves Academic Credential Verification Online

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially ended the physical verification of academic credentials, moving the entire process online. This announcement was made by the Federal Ministry of Education, with Folasad Boriowo serving as the Director of Press and Public Relations.

The new system, which is part of the government's digital transformation agenda, aims to improve data management and strengthen the integrity of academic records. Applicants will now be required to register and upload their documents via the ministry's verification portal, essverifi.educ.gov.ng.

Institutions are expected to send transcripts directly to the ministry's official email address. The transition to a fully automated platform is anticipated to reduce processing time and enhance the credibility of academic credential verification in Nigeria, thereby simplifying procedures and improving public service delivery.
