Nigeria's Education Ministry Moves Credential Evaluation Online

The Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria announced on Thursday the shift of the academic credential evaluation process to an online platform. This initiative, led by Folasad Boriowo, is part of the federal government's broader digital transformation agenda aimed at strengthening data management and ensuring the integrity of academic records.

The fully automated process will enhance transparency, improve data management, and support evidence-based policy decisions. Applicants seeking credential evaluation will now be required to register and upload necessary documents via the official verification portal, essverifi.educ.gov.ng.

Additionally, institutions will send academic transcripts directly to the ministry's official email address, eliminating the need for physical visits for verification. The ministry emphasized that this transition is expected to streamline procedures, shorten processing timelines, and enhance the credibility of academic credential verification across Nigeria.
