FG Engages Julius Berger for Lagos Bridge Rehabilitation

The Federal Government of Nigeria has contracted Julius Berger to undertake the rehabilitation of several critical bridges in Lagos, specifically targeting the Third Mainland Bridge, Carter Bridge, and Iddo Bridge, including the Iddo Bridge Underpass. This initiative aims to address significant structural deterioration that has affected these vital transport links, particularly focusing on long-standing damage to underwater components caused by marine corrosion and tidal forces.

The rehabilitation project is set to commence in January 2024 and is expected to enhance commuter safety, extend the lifespan of the bridges, and reduce structural risks along Lagos State's busiest transport corridor. Additionally, the project is anticipated to ease traffic flow and strengthen economic activities across the state.
