FG Sets November 2026 Deadline for Export Reforms

The Federal Government of Nigeria has mandated that ministries, departments, and agencies complete the second phase of the National Single Window by the end of November 2026. This initiative, announced by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, during a stakeholder engagement in Abuja, aims to eliminate regulatory and bureaucratic barriers hindering Nigerian exports.

The National Single Window, operational since March 27, has processed over 124,614 licenses and permits, registered 11,096 importers and agents, and trained more than 8,000 users, facilitating approximately N12.59 billion in regulatory payments. Oduwole emphasized that the platform's effectiveness relies on faster and simpler export procedures.

The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s goal to diversify the economy and enhance non-oil exports, contributing to a target of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Oduwole noted that exporters had identified major constraints related to fragmentation and duplication, which the National Single Window aims to address.
