FG Applauds Suspension of Oyo Teachers' Strike

The Federal Government of Nigeria expressed its approval of the suspension of the teachers' strike in Oyo State, calling the decision a victory for dialogue and a significant step towards restoring uninterrupted learning in public schools. The resolution followed sustained engagement between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Oyo State government, as well as the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers at both zonal and state levels.

Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, emphasized the commitment of all parties to prioritize the welfare of schoolchildren.

He praised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for his exemplary leadership in resolving the dispute through dialogue. The Nigeria Union of Teachers, represented by Audu Titu Amba and Hassan Ajibola Fatai, also played a crucial role in the resolution.

Alausa reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to ensuring access to quality education and maintaining school safety amid security challenges, pledging to collaborate with stakeholders to protect children's rights to education.
