FG Commends Zulum for Advancing Vocational Education in Borno

The Federal Government of Nigeria has praised Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum for his efforts in expanding technical and vocational education within the state. This initiative has led to the graduation of 3,000 trainees from nine vocational enterprise institutions across Borno.

In a statement released on Sunday, signed by Boriowo Folasad, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, Minister Maruf Tunji Alausa described this initiative as a significant step toward empowering young Nigerians with practical employment skills. Graduates received starter packs and a 100,000 Naira entrepreneurship grant to support their transition into economic activities.

This program aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes youth empowerment and economic inclusion through skill development. The Federal Government is implementing a nationwide technical and vocational education training program aimed at providing 250,000 training opportunities for young Nigerians, with 180,000 youth already trained across the country.

The initiative emphasizes 80% practical training and 20% theoretical instruction to ensure trainees acquire hands-on experience that meets industry needs.
