FG Inaugurates MSME Committee To Strengthen Agric Value Chain

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, has inaugurated the Implementation Technical Committee for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the National Commodities Cooperatives of Nigeria (NACCON). The committee's mandate is to strengthen the agricultural value chain, drive corporate partnerships, boost economic growth, and create opportunities for Nigerian farmers.

The ceremony took place in Abuja, where Kyari emphasized the government's commitment to providing a conducive environment for agribusiness and MSMEs to thrive. The ministry will support producers with targeted interventions across various commodity value chains to improve rural infrastructure, enhance production, processing, packaging, marketing, and distribution.

The goal is to increase farmers' income, expand trade and investment opportunities, create jobs, reduce poverty, and boost foreign exchange earnings. The committee's work aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes food security, economic growth, and agriculture.
