FG Launches Veterinary Hospital to Enhance Livestock Care

The Federal Government inaugurated a modern veterinary hospital in Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State, as part of efforts to strengthen animal healthcare services and develop the livestock sector. Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, the Minister of Livestock Development, stated that the hospital is one of seven model facilities designed to provide quality veterinary services, improve disease control, and enhance livestock production.

The project aims to attract private sector participation and improve the sector's contribution to the economy. A total of 14 veterinary hospitals are at various stages of completion across participating states, bringing the nationwide target to 21.

The hospital is equipped with modern facilities, including a surgical center, consultation rooms, diagnostic laboratories, and a pharmacy, enabling veterinarians to provide specialized animal healthcare services. Rt.
