Nigerian Government to Implement Single Window Policy for Port Efficiency by 2026

The Nigerian government, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, is intensifying efforts to implement a Single Window Policy at Nigerian ports by 2026. This policy targets creating a unified platform to harmonize documents, minimize human contact, and enhance transparency in cargo clearance processes.

The goal is to reduce the average cargo clearance time to seven days by the end of 2026, positioning Nigerian ports among the top three efficient trade gateways in Africa. Key agencies involved include the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), NAFDAC, and SON.

The initiative aims to improve port operations, accelerate cargo clearance, and enhance trade efficiency.
