FG Launches Free Business Registration for SMEs with CAC and SMEDAN

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a nationwide initiative in collaboration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) to provide free business registration for nano, micro, and small enterprises (NMSMEs). This move aims to reduce barriers to formalization for small businesses.

The initiative, announced on September 26, includes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CAC and SMEDAN. By covering registration fees and providing aftercare support, the scheme seeks to enhance the growth and sustainability of registered businesses.

The initiative aligns with the government's Renewed Hope Agenda to support entrepreneurs and strengthen the business ecosystem.
