Kano-Katsina-Maradi Rail Project 60% Complete by 2027

The Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail project is currently 60% complete and is anticipated to be finalized by December 2027. Ali Bukar, the Federal Minister of Transport, announced this progress during a site inspection conducted by a presidential media team led by Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sundai Dare.

The project spans two key corridors and has seen intensified construction activities, particularly on the Kano-Duts stretch, where significant work is focused on bridge construction across challenging terrains. The project, fully funded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's infrastructure fund scheme, includes various components such as earthworks and structural developments along the rail line, which measures approximately 104 kilometers.

The inspection also covered other ongoing projects in Kano and Jigawa states, including an interchange flyover and irrigation farms aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity.
