Nigeria Launches 3MTT Partner Network with EU Support

The Nigerian Federal Government launched the 3MTT Partner Network on a Thursday, securing €5 million from the European Union to support its flagship digital skills initiative aimed at training three million technical talents. Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, emphasized the urgency of leveraging Nigeria's demographic advantage to position the country as a global technology hub.

The 3MTT initiative, first introduced in 2023, seeks to bridge the talent gap in the global technology ecosystem and ensure job placements for trained individuals. The event highlighted contributions from major technology partners, including Microsoft and Moniepoint, and showcased the program's early successes.

The EU's commitment, alongside an additional €6 million from Denmark, brings total support to €11 million. The initiative aims to train 29,000 participants, including women and persons with disabilities, across six geopolitical zones.

The program also includes monthly stipends and globally recognized certifications to enhance participants' competitiveness in the job market.
