FG Targets 50,000 Youths for Digital Job Empowerment

The Federal Government of Nigeria is intensifying efforts to empower young Nigerians by targeting 50,000 youths for digital jobs through strategic partnerships aimed at developing digital skills. Comrade Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, announced this initiative during a media interview with African Independent Television (AIT).

The program is designed to create sustainable employment opportunities nationwide and is expected to produce at least 5,000 internationally certified job-ready youths within the first six months of implementation. The initiative includes collaborations with the Digital School and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to boost youth participation in agriculture.

The government also plans to enhance digital literacy through partnerships with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Olawande emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for young people to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development, ensuring that no young person is left behind.
