FG Launches Digital Platform to Monitor Teachers Nationwide

The Federal Government has launched a new digital platform to monitor teachers nationwide, in collaboration with the Teachers Registration Council (TRCN) and Partnership to Engage, Reform, and Learn (PERL) programme supported by the United Kingdom. The platform aims to establish a credible database of teachers across the country to strengthen professional standards in the education sector.

The Minister of State highlighted the importance of this initiative in improving transparency, accountability, and access to career development opportunities for teachers. The British High Commission expressed support for the education reform in Nigeria, emphasizing the need to motivate teachers to meet professional standards.

Stakeholders believe that this initiative will address concerns about teacher quality and restore public trust in the profession. In another development, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted operational licenses to 11 newly approved private universities, aligning with the Education Sector Renewal Initiative.
