Nigerian Government Launches Onion Farmers Support Program Amid Climate Challenges

The Nigerian government, through NADF, has initiated an intervention program to aid onion farmers impacted by floods and climate-related issues. The program, flagged off by Muhammad Ibrahim, aims to assist farmers in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Yobe states, among others, to recover from recent losses and enhance resilience in the onion value chain.

Over 600 farmers are set to benefit from the program, receiving essential farm inputs to boost production for the 2025 and 2026 farming seasons. The intervention is expected to improve food security and rural livelihoods in the affected regions.
