FG Meets 2025 Oil Revenue Target, Credits PINL, Security Agencies

The Federal Government has achieved its 2025 oil and gas sector revenue target for the first time in many years, thanks to improved security in the Niger Delta region. The Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Dr.

Zacch Adedeji, credited the milestone to sustained peace in the area, which has allowed production to thrive and companies to make profits. He specifically mentioned the role of security agencies, pipeline surveillance contractors like Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL), and the military in maintaining peace and boosting production.

PINL's General Manager, Dr. Akpos Mezeh, highlighted the company's contributions to the nation's revenue target, including zero infractions in the past month and interventions like dismantling illegal bunkering sites.

A joint security operation with PINL's Special Prosecution Task Force recently uncovered two illegal refining sites in Rivers State, leading to arrests and confiscation of stolen crude refining equipment. The importance of maintaining strong ties with host communities and stakeholders in protecting the nation's oil.
