In Major Breakthrough, Nigeria Recorded Zero Cases Piracy in Five Years, Says Naval Chief, Ogalla

Nigeria's Chief Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, announced a major breakthrough with zero piracy cases in the country over the past five years. This achievement was highlighted during the passing out parade of the 2025 set of Young Sailors at the Nigerian Navy School in Akwa Ibom State.

The Chief Naval Staff emphasized the efforts put in by naval operations to make Nigerian waterways safe, including Operation Delta Sanity. The Federal Inland Revenue Service attributed the improved oil and gas revenue to enhanced security and peace in the Niger Delta region.

Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) also contributed to the increased revenue by recording zero infractions and boosting national crude oil production. PINL's General Manager highlighted the company's community partnerships and safety measures that have led to increased trust and profitability.
