FG Inaugurates New Board for Bank of Agriculture

The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a new 10-member board for the Bank of Agriculture, as announced in a statement from the Managing Director, Abimbola Otepola Ishaku, on Saturday. The board aims to reinforce corporate governance and set the stage for renewed strategic leadership within the federally-owned financial institution.

The inauguration took place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security headquarters in Abuja, led by Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture. The new board is expected to enhance the bank's role in driving agricultural development, ensuring food security, and promoting financial inclusion to sustain economic growth.

Minister Kyari urged the board members to provide leadership and support for projects capable of creating jobs and reducing poverty, thereby improving the socio-economic conditions of Nigerian families. The Chairman of the board, Muhammad Babangida, reaffirmed the board's commitment to working closely with the bank's management to develop financial institutions that support the Federal Government's priorities.

The new board members include Ayodeji Sotinrin as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Fatima Garba as Executive Director of Corporate Services, and others in various executive and non-executive roles.
