Oyo Lawmaker Empowers 210 Youths with Digital Skills

The Federal Government, in collaboration with Oyo State lawmaker Stanlei Olajid, has empowered 210 youths with digital skills and laptops through a program held at Dapo Aderogba Hall, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ibadan. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address youth unemployment and bridge the digital divide.

Olajid, representing Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency, emphasized the importance of establishing a tech innovation hub in Ibadan to position it as a technology capital in the South West. The program, which is set to expand with an additional 150 participants next week, aims to run in ten phases by the end of the year.

Participants receive financial support ranging from N30,000 to N50,000 to help launch their digital ventures. The initiative is designed to equip young people with essential skills in areas such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, preparing them for the evolving digital economy.
