Nigeria Partners with Singapore to Boost Technical Education

The Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria has entered into a formal partnership with Singapore's Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to strengthen the country's technical and vocational education training (TVET) system. The agreement was signed on Thursday during a virtual ceremony linking officials in Abuja and Singapore.

The signing involved representatives from both nations, including Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education. The partnership aims to implement a "train the trainer" program to enhance the pedagogical assessment capabilities of TVET instructors across Nigeria.

Additionally, the agreement includes leadership training for Nigerian principals and heads of departments, introducing a global excellence model for skill training that benchmarks Nigerian institutions against international standards. This initiative is part of broader efforts to reposition technical education as a key driver for economic growth, job creation, and industrial development in Nigeria.
