Nigeria Opens Applications for Second TVET Programme Cohort

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the opening of applications for the second cohort of its Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, which aims to expand skill acquisition and job creation among Nigerian youth. The announcement was made by the Federal Ministry of Education through a statement issued by Mr.

Folasad Boriowo, the Director of Press and Public Relations. Dr.

Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, indicated that the nationwide skill development initiative commenced on April 13. The programme is designed to strengthen technical capacity to address unemployment and aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, reflecting the administration's commitment to expanding access to skill-based education.

Participants will receive a monthly stipend of N22,500 during the six-month training period at accredited centers across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and will be awarded a nationally recognized certificate upon successful completion. Eligible applicants are encouraged to register on the official TVET portal.
