FG Releases 2026 Common Entrance Examination Results

On Thursday, the Federal Government of Nigeria announced the results of the 2026 Common Entrance Examination, conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO). A total of 70,357 candidates registered for the examination, which took place on June 6, 2026, across Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Togo.

Prof. Suwaiba Sa'id Idu Ahmad, the Minister of State for Education, disclosed that the highest score achieved was 210, while the lowest score recorded was four.

She noted that 66,950 candidates participated in the examination, with 3,407 candidates absent. The examination serves as a pathway for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS1) in Federal Government Colleges, which remain competitive.

Additionally, the results for the Federal Government Academy in Suleja were released, with 2,071 candidates registered and 1,876 sitting for the test. The highest score there was 187, equivalent to 89.05%.

Prof. Ahmad reaffirmed the admission criteria, which includes 60% merit, 30% equal state representation, and 10% exigency, and emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing educational standards.
