FG Reaffirms Support for Humanitarian Efforts in Nigeria

On a recent date, Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts in Nigeria during a high-level meeting with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Abuja. The minister acknowledged the significant challenges impacting service delivery across various states, particularly in the northern regions.

He highlighted ongoing setbacks due to limited infrastructure, weak laboratory capacity, insufficient emergency services, and uneven health system performance. The meeting emphasized the need for better allocation and management of public resources to improve healthcare access.

Dr. Pitchou Kayemb, MSF's country director, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Nigerian government and reiterated MSF's commitment to providing life-saving humanitarian services.

Dr. Deborah Odoh, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, praised MSF's efforts and reaffirmed the ministry's support for ongoing healthcare projects across 11 states, including Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Borno, Ebonyi, and Cross River.
