Nigeria Partners with Coventry University for Local Degrees

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a partnership with Coventry University to establish a campus in Nigeria, aimed at delivering globally recognized degrees. Dr.

Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, disclosed this information in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja. The initiative, which is part of a broader strategy to enhance educational access and reduce costs, is expected to commence in the third or fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

The campus will be located in Alaro City, Lagos State, and will offer bachelor's and master's programs in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), medicine, business, and vocational education. This partnership underscores the Nigerian government's commitment to making Nigeria a hub for knowledge, skill, and innovation, and is supported by the UK Department for Business and Trade.

The initiative aims to enable Nigerian students to study locally while receiving education that meets international standards.
