FG Initiates Dialogue for Sustainable Health Financing in Nigeria.

The Federal Government, through the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), organized a National Health Financing Policy Dialogue in Abuja to address sustainable health financing in Nigeria. The meeting aimed to develop a roadmap for equitable funding in the health sector, considering the country's evolving health financing landscape.

Challenges such as high spending, weak financial protection, and poor coordination across different levels were discussed. Kelechi Ohiri from NHIA emphasized the need for increased domestic investment in health to achieve universal health coverage.

The dialogue also focused on enhancing accountability, private sector involvement, and policy dialogue to strengthen the health system and track health expenditure effectively.
