Global Fund Commits to Support Nigeria's Health Financing for UHC and Pandemic Preparedness

The Global Fund has pledged continued support to Nigeria in its efforts to strengthen health financing for universal health coverage (UHC). Maria Kirova, Head of High Impact Africa Department at the Global Fund, made this commitment during the National Health Financing Dialogue in Abuja.

The partnership aims to mobilize resources for equitable healthcare access and pandemic preparedness in Nigeria, despite declining international donor support. Kirova praised Nigeria's leadership in addressing HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria, highlighting investments in health insurance, oxygen plant installations, and digitalization of the health sector.

The Global Fund's support is seen as crucial in reshaping Nigeria's future health financing landscape.
