FG Selects 16,000 Nigerians for Digital Training Academy

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the selection of 16,000 Nigerians for the first cohort of its Digital Training Academy. This initiative received a total of 72,850 applications from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Out of these, 19,699 applicants met the qualifying benchmark, leading to the selection of 16,000 individuals for the inaugural cohort. The program is free and aims to provide participants with globally recognized digital skills, preparing them for opportunities in the digital economy.

The academy is being implemented under the Nigeria Education Digital Infrastructure programme, with a national launch scheduled for September 14, 2026. The government emphasizes that this initiative will enhance the digital capabilities of Nigerians and contribute to the growth of the digital economy.
