Free AI and Tech Skills Training for Nigerians

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a free digital skills training program through the Digital Training Academy in partnership with Coursera, aimed at enhancing employability in the digital economy. The initiative, part of the National Skilling Project, plans to enroll 36,000 Nigerians across all 37 states, covering over 10 skill areas including Software Development, Cloud Technologies, Cybersecurity, AI and Machine Learning, and more.

The program is fully sponsored by the government, ensuring no costs for successful participants. Interested individuals can apply by creating an account using their National Identification Number and phone number, completing a profile, and taking a pre-assessment to determine their skill level.

Training centers equipped with internet access and learning devices have been established to support participants without personal computers. Certificates will be awarded to those who complete the training and assessments, with the duration varying by learning track.
