Tinubu's Government Trains 200 Oyo Youths in Skills

The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration has initiated a skills and poverty reduction program in Oyo State, selecting 200 young Nigerians for two weeks of training in graphics and artificial intelligence design, makeup, and fashion designing. This initiative is organized under the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (OSSAP-TVEE) and is part of the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS).

The training sessions will commence on September 28, 2026, running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dr Abiola Arogundade, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on OSSAP-TVEE, emphasized that the program aims to equip youths with skills for economic opportunities.

Following a successful pilot in Abuja, which began on June 30, 2025, the program is now expanding nationwide, targeting 1,200 beneficiaries across all six geopolitical zones. Participants will receive starter kits relevant to their training areas, such as laptops for graphics and AI design and sewing machines for fashion design.
