Federal Government to Train 200 Youths in Oyo State

The Federal Government, via the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS), is set to empower 200 youths in Oyo State with vocational skills and start-up tools from September 28 to October 9, 2026. This initiative, organized under the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (OSSAP-TVEE), aims to provide practical skills and resources to help participants establish or expand their businesses.

The training will cover three areas: Graphics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Makeup, and Fashion Designing. Each participant will receive a complete training kit tailored to their field, including laptops for Graphics/AI trainees, fully equipped makeup kits for Makeup trainees, and sewing machines and starter kits for Fashion Designing trainees.

The program will conclude with a graduation and grand finale on October 9, during which 500 tablets will also be distributed to young Nigerians as part of a digital empowerment initiative. Dr Abiola Arogundade stated that this initiative reflects the government's commitment to equipping youths with skills for sustainable livelihoods.
