FG Enhances Security to Boost Nigeria's Oil Production

The Federal Government of Nigeria is stepping up security measures to protect its oil assets and increase crude oil production. This initiative was announced by the Minister of Defence, Christoph Musa, during a high-level closed-door meeting held in Port Harcourt.

The meeting involved representatives from international oil companies, indigenous oil operators, and security agencies, including the Nigerian Army's 6 Division. The discussions centered on enhancing the protection of oil infrastructure and addressing security threats in the Niger Delta region.

The government aims to create a safer operational environment capable of supporting increased crude oil production, which is vital for Nigeria's economic growth. The commitment to strengthening national security and safeguarding strategic energy assets was underscored during the meeting.
